Lily Paddling
On a road trip through British Columbia in 2023, we stopped for lunch at the Painted Turtle Cafe. Directly off of their patio is Dutch Lake, which is filled with blooming lotus flowers in the summer. A family of Mallards weaved their way among the flowers and this encounter inspired a series of paintings.
Exhibited at the Federation of Canadian Artists, Edmonton Chapter, "Muse" exhibition spring 2024.

Pelican on Aquadeo
Location: Jackfish Lake, SK
Year: 2019
Size: 10 x 12 x 2"
I enjoy kayaking in the summer and nothing thrills me more than watching birds while I am out. One particular summer I followed a pelican enjoying the summer sun and could hardly wait to paint him. Sharing this experience, feeling low to the water with a sliver of canola fields in the distance, was something I was keen on doing.

Rescue Crow
While visiting a farm to check on a friend's horses, my family and I found a fledgling crow that had found it's way into a horse trough and was nearly drown. We swiftly brought it out and dried it off while sitting with it in the summer sun. His family, nearby, we hoped had been grateful for this rescue. Being this close to this magnificent bird is a cherished memory by many members in our household.
Sold. Private Collection.

Red necked Grebe Floating
The beloved grebe spends so much time darting and sliding through the lake, that when it pops up to the surface you must simply stop what you're doing and watch it. I felt that the water breaking around the surface of this bird needed to sparkle like a rainbow to truly reflect how I feel about it.

Magpie, Oh Magpie
I am forever enchanted by magpies. While they are often viewed as annoying chatterboxes, I find them charming and beautiful. Their feathers are striking, their boldness something I find fascinating.
